Sore throat is always very annoying. Usually it doesnít arise independently; very often sore throat is a symptom of another illness, such as angina, viral or bacterial infection, or just a common cold. Of course, severe forms of these illnesses Ė laryngitis, or tonsillitis require a serious medical treatment. But you should know that in many cases you can ease the pain, using some very simple but effective methods. For example, you can prepare a special tea for sore throat.
The best tea for sore throat must contain ginger, which not only relieves the pain, but also is very good for respiratory system. Apart from ginger, you will need lemon juice, thyme, red chili pepper, honey, and, of course, water. First, slice up 1-2 cm of ginger root and squeeze juice out of half a lemon. Also take two small pieces of red pepper. Bring 500 ml of water to a boil, and add ginger, 8-10 sprigs of thyme, and pepper. Let your tea draw for ten minutes. Then pass it through a sieve, and pour into tea cups. Put one teaspoonful of honey and some lemon juice to each cup. Our warm tea for sore throat is ready!
If you donít have all ingredients required, you may try other variations of herbal tea. For example, mix dried ginger, cloves and rosemary and brew up one teaspoonful of this mixture in a glass of water. Or you can make a camomile tea. Camomile itself is a powerful antiseptic, but for better results you may add some honey and lemon juice to it. Another recipe includes garlic. Of course, such tea is not so tasty, but it is a very effective pain reliever. To prepare this tea, take a glass of apple juice and bring it to boil. Cut one small head of garlic, and put it into a boiling juice. Cool it up for ten minutes, and then drink.
Note that your tea must be warm, but not hot. Very hot drink will hurt a mucous tunic, which is already irritated. Sip the tea slowly, trying to warm up your throat. And donít forget that any kind of herbal tea is just an additional method of treatment. To prevent complication of your illness, you should consult a doctor.
